Yorktown was settled in 1683 and is comprised of the five business hamlets of Crompond, Jefferson Valley, Mohegan Lake, Shrub Oak. You’ll find plenty of local shopping in each hamlet. You’ll find many activities at The Yorktown Community & Cultural Center which includes the Yorktown Stage, a gymnasium, the Yorktown Teen Center, The Yorktown Senior Nutrition Center, and The Yorktown Museum. The John C. Hart Memorial Library in located in the Hamlet of Shrub Oak.
